Going In with 2020 Vision
Will this new year be a new me?
It’s January 1st...so now, what?
Another year has passed, and a new year has begun. All of the good, the bad, the difficult, the easy are in the past. So, the fight to be better than you were last year, physically or mentally, has begun.
Follow these steps to attain your goals:
Step 1: Recap on previous year
Whether your past year was the best one yet, or you cannot wait to move on to next year, the most important thing is to acknowledge parts of the year that you didn't like and accept them. Accept them so that you can move on and be better. Think of the goals you set last year and recognize whether you followed them or need to work a little harder this year. Having the same goal from last year is not a bad thing.
Step 2: Write them down
Write down your goals from last year and your goals for this year. Take the time to figure out exactly where you want to be.
Step 3: Break them down
Anyone else want to be a millionaire, living in a villa in France? Well, I hate to tell you but that typically doesn't happen overnight. Plus, setting goals that large can get exhausting. Breaking them down into specific steps of making numbers, or making baby goals to get to your end goal is a great way to boost your confidence and keep yourself accountable.
Step 4: Set a plan
A goal without a plan is just a wish; don't just wish that things will be better. Plan out how you are going to follow through with these goals.
Step 5: Recap & accept
Going through goals doesn't always happen the way we want it to. Accept that goals can change. Goals don't always get attained, and life changes. Accept everything and don't be afraid to change your goal to make it more attainable; after all, the main goal is to just be better, right?
I would like to end with some goals to get you started and help keep me accountable!

Track money
Giving back
These are my top three goals this year. Although I have the typical “eat better, go to the gym everyday, be a better person” goals, I have broken down my work goals for you. For starters, I found myself loving education more and more in 2018. Not only is it great to further your career, it's a great way to network, meet other stylists, or meet people who could be in a position that you may want one day.
As for money, I have always wanted to be more organized, and although I am good at saving. I'm kind of afraid to know how much I don't save. Ever since I was able to work, I have worked in the service industry receiving tips. Tips can be harder to save, so to start the year, I would just like to be aware of how much I make total, so that then I can move towards setting a proper budget. I'm also someone who can spend 100 dollars in 20 minutes...so you see my dilemma.
Giving back, which is something I spoke about in another blog, is becoming increasingly important to me as my schedule and my means are beginning to allow me to give back. Sometimes you just don't have the time, sometimes you don't have the money, and sometimes you don't have either. But take the time to try, after all, sometimes it just takes making the first step. Happy New Year--we’ve got this!
